I've never had a razor that shaves so close but is still so smooth. This is absolutely the lightest razor I've ever held

One of my best shaving experience with the Blackbird titanium. I have the satin version but I initialy wanted the machined one unfortunatly not available... I have very sensitive skin and was a little bit feared by the announced blade feel but now I understand the hype. This rasor is so fantastic that I wanted to try the original one. So I ordered the stainless steel Blackbird in machined finition, but this is an other journey...

Absolutely love this razor. I had a machined blackbird Ti for years; ended up selling it and instantly regretted it. Now I’m happy I did sell it because this allowed me to get the polished version which is an absolute stunner. This razor is so efficient and can get BBS with two passes if needed. Great razor that I will certainly be holding onto now.

Fantastic razor, it really is super lightweight. The finish looks great and fits perfectly in the stand. I've gotten much better, cleaner shaves using this in the few times I've used it, than I did with my old generic safety razor that I picked 10+ years ago.

I shave every day. Shaving is something I enjoy doing and it makes me feel better after a long day. I shower then shave and relax during the evening. I've been a happy user of the stainless steel Blackbird for a long time, and the new black Ti version tempted me to buy one too. As you'd expect from Blackland, the machining and finishing are first-class, and the shave quality is excellent. When it comes to razors, the Blackbird is a modern classic.

Since taking up DE-blade shaving almost a year ago but cursed with a sensitive complexion, I’ve been in search of a razor that can deliver an efficient shave combined with minimal blade-time/irritation, so I can’t recommend the Blackbird Ti enough.

It feels amazing holding it, such a beautiful piece of engineering. Feels fun to shave. Coming from an electric foil shaver it was hard to adjust and I did cut myself the first time but I'm getting used to it slowly and it's becoming fun.

Three shaves in and I'm in love! I was reluctant to drop this much on a razor, but I am glad I did. The titanium is a treat to use, so nimble yet efficient and the shallow angle suits my style perfectly. I'm already getting better shaves than with my previous razor. I can't see myself needing / wanting to use anything else in future.

I got the black titanium because I like the black color. I think it makes the razor sticky. I should have gotten the plain stainless or machined titanium instead.

I have sensitive skin, and my go-to razor for years has been the Feather DE with a milder blade. Switching razors is always scary - and a crapshoot. Many advertise that they are "mild," but in reality they are more moderate shavers. So it was with some trepidation that I ordered the Ti Blackbird - with the Lite / mild head. Although I'm still getting acquainted with it, this is a great razor, and I'm glad that I got the Lite head. The build quality, fit and finish are excellent. I also ordered the titanium stand, and it's a nice combination. So far, I'm very satisfied, and I would not hesitate to order another one if I wanted a different finish (I got the matte/satin finish). Nice job on these!

The Blackbird Ti in Machined is a stellar looking razor. It has this pure look about it that sits between satin and polished but feels great in the hand, is nimble like all the Ti versions and so smooooooth on the skin. Definitely the best of the best among DE razors for me.

This razor is excellent in its own right, but man, as a travel razor, where you don’t want to carry a bespoke steel or copper razor, it really is excellent.

I need to talk about the crew at Blackland. Literally less than two weeks after I bought the short handle Stainless, they drop this new version. Perfect timing, right? One quick email to Blackland and the exchange was sorted. No hassle, no drama. Honestly, I can’t think of a company with better customer service, and I’m not just talking about the razor community. As for the razor itself, it’s gorgeous. Easily my best-looking razor… it’s a 2 pass bbs buy for life.

The Blackbird Ti is a fantastic razor, as many have attested. After adjusting to it, I find “lightly riding the cap” prevents any blade digging when going XTG (or ATG). With the Lite plate, I can go for BBS and still have virtually no irritation. I rarely have weepers and never get cut. As long as the lather is kept well hydrated, the Lite plate doesn’t plug even with multiple days growth. Love the awesome shaves.

I have been shaving with safety razors for more than 15 years. The titanium Blackbird has become my favorite and every day razor. I bought a stainless Blackbird about a month and half, two months ago. I bought the titanium version recently and love it. It's now my every day razor and the stainless one will be a travel razor. I can't recommend it enough. Great razor!

1st shave with the 'TiBird'.. smooth, efficient and not at all menacing, despite the obvious blade feel.. getting more familiar with how it shaves will only improve the experience. Also, great service from Shane.. 5 stars.

Brilliant razor. Really light and can really feel the blade without any of the risk of cuttimg yourself. Usually do 3 passes (one wtg, one xtg, and one agt) but with this, only need two good passes and get a bbs shave. Worked well the Polsilver and Astra Superior Platinum blades.

Over the last couple of years, l've noticed the same razors that I would buy to shave my legs and under arms since I was in high school have become to truly be one time use razors. So I asked my faithful assistant ChatGPT for a razor that I would never have to replace, and that it had to have sharp blades that lasted a long time. And behold, it's said that I should get the Blackbird in titanium and so I did. I got it yesterday and I've already forgotten about the price. In my opinion, it's worth it and it shaves beautifully.

The Blackbird Titanium is an elegant industrial design and a wonderful shaving razor with well executed product support via website and video. It shaves as advertised - close and comfortable with good efficiency that can be fine tuned by choice of base plate and brand of blade. I selected the lite safety plate as my soft facial hair and tender skin enjoy a mild shave. I think it was the right choice. After-purchase marketing is helpful and somewhat relentless. It tempted me to look at the single edge Vector Titanium and after a bit I found one on sale at a Blackland reseller. The Vector is another experience altogether... intuitive - almost an extension of your hand rather than a device held in it, and capable of incredible closeness with the (blessedly) limited choice of high quality Artist Club blades. It will be fun to alternate between these beautiful shaving tools. Bravo to Blackland for bringing such fine products to market.

I’m using the Blackbird titanium to shave my head, almost daily. There is a bit of learning curve, as I’ve been using a Henson razor for a while with a pretty forgiving angle margin of error. But after a few shaves it’s easy to tell that the Blackbird is really an amazing razor. Gets a super close shave, and the quality and design are really pleasing to behold.

What a wonderful razor, great to use, very close shave with the open comb and a nice easy to use on autopilot lite plate. Looks fantastic too! Almost returned at the 30-day deadline and I’m glad I didn’t. Initially lots of nicks and neck irritation. Once I found blades that worked better for me in this razor (my previous go-to blade didn’t perform the same), and found a better technique (1 pass WTG 1 pass ATG), I Now get the closest comfortable skintight feeling shaves. No issues with the razor banging around in my suitcase and going from 50+ degrees to -30 degrees in an unpressurized cargo compartment 30ish times a month. I suspect my unborn, post- puberty children will have lovely shaves with it (after they pry it from my dead hands).

I gave as a gift for my son for Christmas and he loves it. He has used a straight razor for a while, but he said this razor gave the best shave he’s ever had. He loves it!! Perfect Christmas gift.

My Blackbird Titanium, with the lite base plate gives me an excellent shave- very smooth, close and forgiving. The fit and finish of the razor are superb. I find that the satin finish helps me maintain a good grip on the razor when it is wet/covered in lather. The design of the head makes achieving the optimal angle for ever-so-slightly different from that of most of my razors (more shallow), so it takes practice to get the best shave. But once I figured it out, I was very pleased with the results. I am a daily shaver, with a light beard. My goal is always a “DFS” (darn fine shave)- never a BBS- so the lite plate is perfect for my needs. My Blackbird will definitely be one of my “go to” razors- replacing several others- and I would buy it again without hesitation.

I have been using DE razors and straight razors for over 16 years. Tried numerous different high end products. This beauty is constructed carefully with perfect positive blade exposure yet so efficient and ever so smooth. Just love my new Blackbird Titanium polished. Well done Blackland! I originally purchased a Blackbird SS razors 1 1/2 years ago when I had just started to wet shave. At that time, it was much too aggressive for me since I had not yet mastered my technique. I returned it. I recently purchased a Ti version during the November sale. I have been using it for about a month and it is the most amazing razor in my collection. Amazing efficiency and excellent comfort. Pairing it with Perma-Sharp blades.

I own numerous safety razors, many of which are top-of-the-line. First off, this Blackbird Titanium is aesthetically a 10 out of 10 for me—that has to be said right away. From a practical standpoint, the weight of the titanium is perfect; it makes the razor extremely agile. Its effect on the skin is different from that of steel—warmer. You can feel the blade, but with gentleness. The razor is very deep, with a highly intuitive angle that, even though it's more defined by its geometry than some others, still allows good freedom for the user. The titanium threading, for those who haven't experienced it before, can feel unusual. It sounds different from steel, and you need to avoid over-tightening. An extraordinary razor that immediately became one of my favorites. If I really had to find a flaw, it's that it's too "perfect."

Even before opening it, I knew my dream had come true and that something amazing awaited me inside. Upon opening it, I discovered a razor with an incredibly light and elegant design. The Blackbird gives me a BBS like no other razor. Truly a baby butt smooth experience. Ultra efficient and very, very smooth, this is easily the best razor I’ve used so far.

Great razor. Super shave

Perfect bbs shave, first use, right out of the box. A holy grail razor. It is just right for my beard and my skin. Despite being bbs efficient, it doesn't irritate the finicky left side of my neck. I was inspired to order the open comb base plate, which arrived just in time to mow down my 3 1/2 day Thanksgiving weekend beard. Another perfect shave, smooth and comfortable. I highly recommend the blackbird.

I absolutely love this razor. I've heard lots about the satin finish tugging when shaving, but I haven't experienced any of that. On the contrary, I have had a great time with it, with a few stokes I can remove my full beard with a hassle. Now, if I could give my cents on the best finish, I'd recommend the satin for someone looking for a "tool" razor, that can withstand cosmetic abbrasions, and the polished finish for those looking for a more luxurious experience and aesthetics overall. Needles to say, both will do a wonderful job.

Good build quality. The satin finish is a darker grey than I expected but I like it. Some blade feel at beginning but after a couple of shaving and some angle adjustment it became a non issue. Was debating between the long handle and the standard, and eventually chose the long. It is a less popular length but works great, esp when I prefer to have enough space for all my fingers on the handle to gain better control on a titanium razor (less problematic for the heavier SS version). Really like my Ti Lite.

The satin Ti finish has just the right grip, looks fantastic, and shrugs off daily use. On the face it’s that rare combo: gentle and civilized, yet ruthlessly effective. Three relaxed passes and I’m glass-smooth with a closeness that lasts deep into the next day. No drama, no touch-ups, no post-shave sting—just a calm, consistent shave that makes you look forward to tomorrow. It’s fun, too: precise around trouble spots, easy under the nose, and responsive to different blades without ever feeling fussy. After Batch 001 in Bronze, I didn’t think Blackland could egalize themselves. The Titanium long handle did. This is one of my endgame daily drivers. Hat off, Shane — outstanding work!

Most efficient razor ever, just pure engineering perfection.

I am 68 years old and new to DE safety razors. Fed up with cartridge blades that made me miserable I took the DE plunge about 8 weeks ago and ordered a Henson ( I wanted the safest thing possible since I had no idea if these things would slice me up). I used it for a few weeks and was still having facial irritation (probably cause I was over-shaving to get a close shave.) I next got a Rockwell 6S, a great razor and I could control the aggression. All this time I was lusting after a Blackbird Titanium but several reviews worried me that I wasn't ready to handle a razor like this. Well I just had my first shave and it was wonderful. I had a 3-1/2 days growth and the Blackbird took it down like it was nothing. I only took one pass WTG. It was the first time I felt no need to shave in another direction. There was nothing scary about it. Following Shane's instruction finding the right angle was easy. If you've been on the fence about this razor wondering if its too much for you to handle I encourage you to take the leap.

The titanium Blackbird with the standard plate is, for me, pretty much the Jesus razor. I can use it daily, including against the grain passes and buffing and touch up. I recognize that I might have unusually tolerant skin, and my experience isn't applicable to everyone. I originally bought only the open comb plate, and the open comb did live up to the Blackbird's online reputation as a "high risk, high reward" shaver. I chose the open comb because my previous daily shaver was an open comb with a 0.95 mm blade gap, and I'd gotten to the point where that razor felt like a kitten. Though I'm still in the first month of shaving with the Blackbird, I'm surprised at how much milder the standard plate feels to me than the open comb. For a minute, I thought Blackland might have mailed me a Lite plate somehow missing the "Lite" logo on the underside of the plate, but I doubt that could have happened. Though Blackland rates the "blade feel" of the standard at "7.5" on a scale of 1 to 10, and the open comb at "8", this is one of those areas like blade gap where it's hard to put the actual experience of shaving into numbers or measurements. Perhaps the blade feel is very close for the two plates, but other factors may be more important when trying to differentiate the shaving experience (like how the razor retains, or doesn't retain, the lather and residual water as it moves across your skin). The razor's weight is, for me, a help, and generally speaking I've been gradually realizing over the last year that I don't need more weight to "let the razor do the work" (for my previous razor, I'd started using a hollow handle to lighten things up a bit). I'm curious at how the limited edition "Batch 003" aluminum Blackbird shaves (though probably not enough to buy one), and I can imagine it giving "mid-tier" aluminum razors a real run for the money in the market for new DE shavers, particularly if the lite plate is offered. I don't know if the economics of that would work out for Blackland, but it's a razor I'd be recommending if it were available.

Great razor, blade feel was less than I was expecting but I have the lite version

I'm an experienced wet-shaver and I've owned a considerable number of safety razors over the years, but the Blackbird Titanium truly delivers an outstanding shaving experience. Very few safety razors come even close to Blackbird territory.

2years ago I left a poor review of titanium blackbird, it was consigned to the bathroom cupboard. After much comparison with other razors the handle I found to be much shorter on blackbird. I have since fitted a long handle, the difference this has made is incredible, I can say with over 60 years shaving experience, the long handled titanium blackbird is giving me the best shaves I have ever had.

Beautiful razor! The craftsmanship and build quality is amazing on this model, it’s the first titanium razor i’ve ever owned, and I’m really enjoying it more and more each time I use it! The titanium blackbird shaves like a dream! While the regular plate is fun to shave with, the lite plate is perfect for me for daily/eod shaves. All of my past favorite razors were on the mild side, the blackbird is so ridiculously efficient compared to them..all while being SO smooth. Outside of how it performs, the razor is a work of art. The machined finish is a stunner. I couldn’t be any more happy with this one. 10/10 recommend

I tried a standard handle Stainless steel version this past summer with both the standard and lite bases and I could not make it work for me. After in-depth emails with Shane I took his suggestion and waited for the Black Friday sale and switched to the Titanium with the Lite base and the long handle. My very first shave was as smooth as could be with no nics or irritation at all. The very next day I started doing three pass shaves and they were all BBS smooth. I don’t know if it the lighter weight of the Titanium or the long handle, or a combination of both, but this Blackbird is outstanding. It has moved into the top two positions in my shave rotation. The razor shaves as good as it looks!

I am 70 years old and a dedicated wet-shaver for all of my adult life, my bearded years excluded. For several years now, the Vector has been my preferred ride. On a lark during the summer, I pulled out an old Gillette Red Tip and was treated to a wonderful shave. Being a fan of Blackland, I decided to give the Blackbird in stainless steel a try. Sad to say, I didn't love it. It shaved great, but didn't feel right. On Shane's advice, I traded up to the Blackbird titanium, and I am so glad I did. Like a good surgical instrument, the light titanium razor rewards a deft touch with an extraordinary shave. (In my hands, the standard SB Titanium Blackbird was smoother than the Lite Stainless SB Blackbird.). This razor is a keeper.

After trying different configurations of the Blackbird, the Ti OC with long handle in satin finish is my favorite. Definitely one of my favorites in the shave den. Don’t let the open comb scare you as I find it to be a better experience than the standard safety bar. And being titanium the longer handle feels nice in the hand with little added weight as the satin finish adds more grip. Can’t go wrong with a Blackbird, whatever combination you choose.

This is my third Blackbird. After picking up a used SS and purchasing the Batch 3, I knew I wanted this amazing razor in Ti. Now I have it and love it! In my top 3 favorite 3 piece razors!
