Colonial Razors is joining Blackland

Blackland wasn’t the only razor brand founded in 2015. In that same year, twin brothers Kyle and Kirk started Colonial Razors. While most of us were creating double-edge razors, Colonial led the way with the General, a single-edge razor that quickly gained a loyal following. After the General came the General V2, the Silversmith, and most recently the CR7 in 2024.

Colonial was never the full-time focus for Kyle and Kirk, and eventually life got in the way. We’ve always respected Colonial. I remember being impressed when I shaved with the General back in 2016. So when Kyle came to us about the brand, we jumped at the opportunity. Colonial Razors will be operated as an independent brand, produced alongside Above the Tie and Blackland Razors here in our San Diego facility. Colonial built a reputation for quality products and customer-first service. That’s a standard we will proudly continue. 

While we’re still planning out the future for Colonial Razors, one thing is for certain. The General is coming back in 2027.
