Every Blackland design begins with a question. How we can innovate? If an idea we have isn't sufficiently innovative then we simply don't make it. It's only when a concept brings something novel to the industry and moves the needle in a meaningful way that we even consider producing it.
When the Sabre was released, it debuted our novel slim-post design - an innovation that allowed a GEM blade to fit over the top cap like a double-edge blade to keep the head compact and centered over the handle. It's a concept that we continued with the Vector. So when we updated the Sabre in 2024, we knew we had to keep innovating and pushing the platform even further.
Building upon the innovative design of the original Sabre, the updated Sabre features a novel adjustment mechanism to make it even more functional and versatile. Instead of multiple base plates with different performance, the Sabre uses a single base plate with a detachable safety bar, allowing for simple and easy adjustment. The Sabre's safety bars are machined in 17-4 stainless steel due to its magnetic properties. A small neodymium magnet in the base plate body allows the safety bar to snap into place securely and easily.
Like every Blackland razor, the Sabre raises the bar.

Every piece of the Sabre was designed, tested, and precisely crafted by us right here at Blackland HQ in San Diego. We're proud to build innovative, boundary-pushing designs from the ground up, but it's about more than pride. It's about building a better product for our customers. By controlling every aspect of the Sabre, we're able to craft a product of creative design and unparalleled precision. And that means a better shave for you.
Absolute Control
We designed the Sabre to be perfectly balanced and maneuverable so you're always in control. It starts with keeping the weight down to a slim 77g in stainless steel. Then our narrow top cap post allows the head to be compact and perfectly centered over the handle for ideal weight distribution and balance. The semi-hollow handle was designed to put the razor's center of gravity right in the middle of the grip section of the razor.
Finally, the grip section of the handle was designed and crafted to give you secure confidence at all times. This section of the handle is machined more coarsely for better grip. Then we give this area a satin bead blast, creating a two-tone handle, to increase the grip even more.
The result is a razor that feels like an extension of your hand, making shaving effortless and intuitive.
Unmatched Versatility
The Osprey is designed to be the most adaptable, versatile razor ever made, featuring 1.4mm of adjustment over nine shave levels. This wide range of adjustment allows you to choose how it will perform. By moving the safety bar up and down, the blade gap and blade exposure are changed, giving you absolute control over your shave. Choose a higher level for the closest shave or pick a lower level for a more relaxed, smooth experience.
Magnetic Adjustment
The Sabre's removeable and flippable safety bar is held firmly in place during assembly using a powerful neodymium magnet. When fully assembled, the handle locks the safety bar securely in place for safe operation. The use of magnetic steel for the safety bars allows for confident and easy adjustment.
Four Shave Levels
Every Sabre comes with two flippable safety bars, each with two shave levels, for a total of four settings. With four distinct shaving experiences, there is a Sabre shave for everyone. Choose Levels One or Two for a smooth and gentle experience. Step up to Levels Three and Four when efficiency is the priority.
Finishing Touches
The Sabre is machined and finished in-house at Blackland. Choose between a robust machined finish that proudly shows off the process of CNC machining each piece or a beautiful mirror polish applied by hand. Each Sabre handle, regardless of finish, is then selectively media blasted to create a secure grip section for optimal handling.
